Nap time in the Puppy Pen

Our puppies love the food we feed them so much that they will even hang out in the food bowl in order to not miss the next serving.

Our conditions are:

1.

Pet puppies are sold on a spay/neuter contract, with a Canadian Kennel Club non-breeding agreement.

2.

We require two letters of reference from pet professionals as to how you have cared for your past or current pets, such as a veterinarian, groomer, or trainer. If you have not previously owned a pet, then two letters of reference from a current employer and co-worker will be acceptable. We are very willing to provide references to you from trainers and pet owners who have purchased dogs from us. We require these references because puppy placement is very important to us and we want to make sure our pups get the best homes possible.

3.

We also insist on the right of first refusal, which means that at any time in the dog's life you cannot commit to the dog, for whatever reason, and need to re-home the dog, you must offer to return him/her to us first, no questions will be asked, and we will take the dog back. We are concerned about the dogs we breed and want the best possible for them, we do not want them dumped into a shelter or rescue centre, or placed with someone whom we would not be comfortable selling one of our dogs to.

4.

The health guarantee does not cover accidental death due to owner's negligence (hit by car, etc.).

The health guarantee will be null and void if the new owner fails to provide the dog with:

A) a top quality premium dog food containing: not to exceed 26% and 16% fat; with Meat or Meat Meal (not meat by-product meal) as the # 1 ingredient.

B) or fails to keep the dog up to date with vaccinations for DHPP and Rabies

C) annual vet check.

All health guarantees will become null and void if the dog is fed a raw or BARF diet.

One of the reasons we do not support B.A.R.F. diets is due to the overall health and longevity of a dog based on his dental health. Infected, broken teeth, periodontal and gum disease affects organs (heart, liver, kidneys) of dogs and can shorten a dog's life substantially -- the same way such things affect the health of people. We are not uneducated on this subject. We work with top veterinary specialists and unfortunately have our own horror stories to tell of dogs we fed a BARF diet.

Please read this article by Dr. Fraser Hale (The Tooth Vet) http://www.toothvet.ca/PDFfiles/BARF.pdf

Our dogs are thoroughly screened for genetically inherited diseases before any breeding occurs, so we are confident to stand behind our puppies. With shelties, by three years of age, if there was going to be any genetically inherited health problems, they should have surfaced by then.
